Telling Time

I was learning to read the o'clock times and half past time on an analog clock. I can read half past times on an analog clock. It was easy because I new how to tell the time.

Division

I was learning to use equal sharing to solve division problems. I can share objects equally into different groups and turn it into an equation. It was tricky because I did not now how to do it.

Multplication

I was learning to solve multiplication problems using repeated addition. I can use repeated addition to solve different equations. It was easy because the pictures helped me solve the problem.

Statistical Investigation

I was learning to carry out a statistical investigation.I know how make a tally chart. It was easy to make a tally chart because tally marks were in the groups of 5 which made it easy to add up.

I am learning my basic facts

We have been learning our basic facts in class. On the ipads I can play the game, slide maths, with my friends to practice. I loved playing this and look forward to getting better at my maths!

We are learning to tell the time.

In Room 8/26 we have been learning how to tell the time. We have been focusing on o'clock and half past.

I am learning to count on to solve addition problems.

"I am learning to count up numbers. I am proud of myself for being able to do it by myself. I find it tricky to count numbers over 100. "

I am learning how to read graphs and talk about them

For Maths we have been learning all about Statistics in Room 26/8. We have been learning about bar graphs, pie graphs and pictographs. I am learning how to read the graph and talk about the results.

"Julie because she has the smallest compared to the others. It was easy because I can see their names."

Maths Slide.

We need to look at the pictures and work out the number sentence, e.g. 2 + 2.  Then we need to figure out the answer.  Last we have to slide the right answer up.  This is a game we can play with a friend in Room 1.

"I am learning about this game.  I know I am good because I am the winner when I play with my friend.  Sometimes I count and sometimes I already know the answer like, 2 + 2 = 4.  I want to keep playing and I can get better!"

Numbers in Between.

I am playing - Monkey in the Middle.  I have to look at the two monkeys on the card and choose which number goes in between.  I play lots of Maths games in Room 1 because its a cool, fun way to learn new things and to get better and better.

"I am quick at this game.  I would like to make it harder, up to number 32.  I like to throw the dice in the space, and then count the number of dots, and I can jump that many times."

Skip Counting in Twos.

This game is on Sunshine Online.  The monkey and the orangutan and the gorilla are eating all of the bananas and I am counting them too.

"I can count in twos like the orangutan.  The number after eight is ten.  I want to skip count up to one hundred.  I can count with my mum or my teacher."

Counting.

We are learning to write our numbers by ourselves and to put them into the right order.

"I can write my numbers up to 19.  Some of the numbers are a little bit tricky like, 9 and 19.  I need to keep trying so I can do them the proper way.  At my house I write numbers in my learning book."

Shapes.

I am learning about circles, squares, triangles and rectangles.  I cut some shapes out of paper.  I made my picture using my creative ideas.  Here is my house made with shapes.  

"I like my shape picture because there are circles and triangles and squares and rectangles.  My favourite is my sun because it is shining out.  It was tricky to glue the shapes on because they were sticking on my hands."

My Pattern.

We are learning to make a pattern that continues.  If we make a great pattern, we can give it to our friends and they can finish it off.  They can figure out what comes next in the pattern. 

"My pattern is pink, purple, pink, purple.  The next peg would be a pink one.  I can make patterns with the beads too.  I like patterns because they are really pretty."
