summer Art

First I made the  background and died it and  then I started drawing a lot of pictures the pictures I drawed  two dolphins and a beach ball and a drink then I  drawed some clouds  and a sun. The most challenging part was cuting because  i almost cated my dolphins. My most favourite  mart was darwing because you got to  choose what draw summer art.

Persuasive Writing

I was learning to write a persuasive piece of writing. I can agree or disagree with a topic. I can provide reasons  why I  agree or disagree with topic. It was easy because there is lots of reasons why I like ice cream.

Narrative

I was learning to write a narrative piece of writing. I can discuss the setting. I can write a conclusion. It was easy because I got ideas from the pictures to help me write my story.

Instruction Writing

I was learning to understand what imperative verbs are. I can match the verb to its action. It was tricky because i did not know what the verbs meant.

The Buddhist Temple

I was learning to make and follow a plan. I know how to make a plan. I can follow my own plan. It was easy to make and follow my plan because I had lots to write about because I had so much fun on the trip.

We have been learning how to use popplet on the laptops/ ipads. This is my brainstorm about my bedroom. 

"I am learning to describe my bedroom. I am proud of myself for sounding out the words. It can be tricky to spell unknown words. I can ask the teacher or my friends."

I am learning to write a cinquain poem

We have been learning how to write cinquain poems. We will be successful when we:

•  use descriptive language
•  follow the structure of a cinquain poem. 
•  not repeat the same words.

A cinquain poem is made up of 5 lines. 

This first line is one word (title).

The second line is two describing words.

The third line is three verbs (doing words).

The fourth line is four words to describe a feeling. 

The fifth line is one word.

This cinquain poem is on my favourite colour!

I am learning to use describing words

On Friday it was Elm Park’s 50th birthday. It was a very hot day. It was a very fun day. We all went to the auditorium. We all dressed up and our teacher too. It was very noisy. I saw colours. I was scared. Did you like Elm Parks birthday? Yes. It was a very fun day. It was the best day every. I like school.

"I am good at story writing. I am proud of myself for using the words from my brainstorm in my writing. Next time I could try to use more describing words. "

I am learning to use my senses to help me with my writing.

In class we have been using the Quiver App on the ipads. First, we coloured in our animal and then we used the ipads to make it come to life. For writing we used some of our senses to help us write about our animal.

"I like writing because it helps me with my reading. I found it tricky sounding out some of the words."

My Shadow Writing.

We read a poem about shadows.  We wanted to make shadows in the sunshine but it rained and rained, so Mrs Kerr brought her lamp to school.  We made shadows on the whiteboard.  If we stood close to the lamp, our shadow was bigger and when we stood close to the whiteboard, our shadow was smaller.  We made a pattern using Kidpix and coloured it in with pastels.  Here is my picture and my story.

"I made a shadow shape in Room One It looks like a crown.  I felt surprised."  

Writing About Clouds.

We read a poem about clouds.  We went outside and we looked into the sky to see the clouds.  Some of them were shapes we know.  We wrote about what we saw and Mrs Kerr helped us to publish our writing.

"I saw a heart shaped cloud in the sky and I wrote my story about it.  Then I could pick the heart picture and now my story is inside the heart.  Next time I might try a giraffe shape and write a story about giraffes."

Publishing My Writing.

This is the story I wrote in my book and then I typed the words by myself on the computer.  My picture matches my words.

"It was easy for me to do the work because I did it before.  It was hard before but now it is easy.  My picture is amazing!"

My Writing.

This is my first week at school this year.  I wrote a story.  First I drew my picture.  Next I told Mrs Kerr my story.  She wrote the words for me and I copied underneath.

"This was easy for me because I know some of the words.  I am very good at copying the teacher and I love my work.  I am in the picture with my mum.  Everyone else is at home."

I Can Recognise and Write - BIG and little.

My story - I am little.  The tree is big and I am Jenny.  I wrote the story in my book and then Mrs Kerr published it on the laptop and I could choose my tagul shape and my colours.  I am good at writing  and I can find the words on the cards to make my story.

I Am Writing!

First I need to think about my story.  I can draw my picture.   I can copy the day like, Thursday.  I write a sentence to match my picture.  My teacher can help me. Sometimes my friend can help too.

"It is tricky to write the story because I don't know all the things.  I need some help and the teacher can help me."
